We’re looking back on a great week in Miami with the combined Exabel and BattleFin team! To celebrate our merger, the entire Exabel team attended BattleFin’s annual Alternative Data Discovery Day in Miami on 22-24th January –  find out what we got up to below.

Exabel’s Data Partner Day

We kicked off the annual conference on Wednesday morning, gathering a selection of our 65+ Data Partners together for an overview of Exabel in the context of the merger with BattleFin. We spoke to our data partners about all the work the Exabel team has planned for 2025, including an overview of our Data Partner Program, how we assist in accelerating their GTM strategies as well as the updates and features to the Exabel platform launched in 2024 and our new product updates coming in 2025.

#BetterTogether & Exabel Platform Showcase

On Wednesday evening Tim Harrington, CEO of BattleFin and Exabel, kicked off the conference by showcasing insights from our latest 2025 research report – where we surveyed 130 fundamental portfolio managers and analysts to gather insights on the application of alternative data in investment management.

Following this, Tim Harrington sat down with Andreas Aglen, President of Exabel, and Daniel Entrup, Co-Founder at AggKnowledge and creator of the ‘Its Pronounced Data’ alt data industry newsletter, to discuss the history of Exabel and BattleFin whilst looking ahead to the future of our companies together.

Zac Yang, VP Product, took to the stage to give the audience a live demo of the Exabel platform where he demonstrated the latest features and functionalities, showcasing a typical workflow a portfolio manager or analyst would use on Exabel.

US Consumer Mosaic Panel with Sensor Tower, Consumer Edge and Datos

Moderated by Casey Webb, Bridgewater, and together with our Data Partners, our Director of Research Gene Gallagher joined a panel to discuss the trends in the US consumer space with insights from app traffic data (SensorTower), consumer spending (Consumer Edge) and clickstream & web traffic (Datos). Following the insights from our partners separately, Gene pulled the datasets together in the Exabel platform to show how you can combine these datasets for differentiated views on companies in the Exabel platform.

Industrials Mosaic Panel with INRIX and Placer.ai 

Following the same vein, Andreas joined INRIX (transportation analytics) and Placer.ai (foot traffic and location intelligence) on stage to discuss how combining these datasets can provide deeper insight into the performance of companies within the industrials sector.

Kayrros: Product Showcase

We were thrilled to see one of our newest data partners, Kayrros, on stage at the event to discuss their geospatial imaging dataset and how impactful it can be for investors focusing on LNG, cement, and steel equities. Niklas Huppmann, Business Development & Product Manager at Kayrros took to the stage to showcase their dataset and the insights portfolio managers and analysts are able to derive.
